New single coming soon

New single coming soon

When I was a little girl, life was simple. All I cared about was mom’s cooking and her fixing my hair, my daddy’s smile and his oil paintings, my sister’s nail polish and her Whitney Houston/Anita Baker cassette tapes, my brother tearing up the wooden floor with his version of Heavy D’s dance moves, and his brotherly protection (of course).

Two things you could always catch me with, my double dutch rope and my bike. When daddy came home with my new pink and purple bike…..I…didn’t…know…how…to…act! Something so simple made me so happy. Every time I rode my bike down a hill, I would let go of the handle bars, feel the wind dancing on my cheeks and taste the freedom of carefree innocence. Looking back, it makes sense now why I am the way I am naturally. Reflections on how I ended up writing the song and producing the music video project somehow brings things full circle.

I’ve always loved music. Period comma but if somebody would’ve told me that one day I would record a song in the same studio as artists like Ledisi, LaLa Hathaway, Maxwell, Isaiah Sharkey and Jermany Thomas…

I’d be like “not for real”.

Oh but it is so!

I even tried rejecting the idea a few times actually. In my mind I’m thinking surely you’re an artist but not that kind of artist. God saw me in a different lens and so now I’m here with my first song available for download on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, and everywhere else!

The name of the song is called “Where He At?” A conversation from thoughts based on the pure desire as to if or when a woman will meet her husband. Her forever. Her Boaz. Jermany Thomas comes on the track representing the heart of a man when he’s ready to find his wife. His good thing. His Ruth.

How this song came to be? Well that I will share in another post. I hope the video and song will reach who it needs to reach and affirm those who can relate and give them peace as they wait well.

Hear me. I am not trying to be famous. Just doing God’s will. Dassit. He gave this to me and I did my best to share the vision with you. Stay tuned for the music video premiere on my Instagram and Facebook on Sunday, December 15th at 5pm.
