Style on a budget
Hola. Two pieces in this photo were purchased from Old Navy. Can you guess? Go on. To keep up the suspense, I'll reveal further down in this post. This photo represents how styling on a budget can effortlessly upgrade your look. Take a look at my shoes. When I first laid eyes on them, I immediately thought of those white and black saddle oxfords my mother bought me from Payless. Ladies, let's not act you've never had a pair of those. Or Hush Puppies. The shoes give off classic vibes with a retro twist and so I knew they would compliment my wardrobe nicely. These one of a kind babies are the most expensive piece, next to the jacket, then the handbag.
Notice a pattern here? My denim top and faux suede jeggings (wanna-be jeans + legging silhouette) are indeed from Old Navy. You'd be surprised of the high quality basics you'd find there on a good shopping day. Splurging on staple pieces such as shoes, jackets, handbags and maybe even accessories is the key to styling on a budget. We tend to fall out of love with clothes quicker than the staples since we reach for those more often.
To get the most wear out of your wardrobe, accessorize with higher end pieces, and scale back on others. Not all garments are created equal, but your style selection will determine what's in your closet for the moment or the long haul.
