Be still
Chile, y'all not gonna work my nerves about this petty COVID-19 pandemic situation. Really. Let’s be clear.
Do I understand that this really is “a thing?” Sure.
Is it imperative for us to consistently sanitize every area of our lives? No doubt.
Are we inconvenienced by the tissue shortage in local stores, kids missing school, graduation ceremonies in jeopardy, threats of shutting down favorite restaurants, and the other things that may interfere with us living our best life? Absolutely.
However, if you, like me, in the past have been looped into situations of inconvenience, security threats, worry, anxiety and fear, then you must know that this too shall pass.
With that said, please do:
- Take a deep breath and relax. (should you choose to wear a mask while doing so, go for it.)
- Cover your mouth when you cough/sneeze with your ARM pointed in a downward direction. (if not, a germ shower may disrespect your neighbor if your hand isn’t cupped correctly)
- Do not forget to use soap with water when washing your hands. Amen? (yes, some ppl buy into the rule of leaving healthy bacteria on their hands, not today saints) *Not sure what I’m talking about? This may apply to the person that leaves the commode, rinses hands with just water (or walks right past the sink), and out the door.
- Protect your peace, guard your heart and mind, and meditate on good things like The Bread of Life. Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
We’re all busy handling priorities and taking the necessary precautions to get through this trying time. Here’s some additional self care tips I’d like to share.
- Do a wellness check with your family and friends
- Workout at home (throw on a YouTube workout video, FaceTime your PT and get to work)
- Listen to podcasts ~ a few recommendations
- Relationship Reals w/ Jermany and Bernie Thomas
- Small Doses w/ Amanda Seales (warning: some content is rated R)
- The Alternative w/ Tony Evans
- Woman Evolve w/ Sarah Jakes Roberts
*If you know of any good podcasts that advances the lives of men, drop it in the comment section below.
- Relationship Reals w/ Jermany and Bernie Thomas
- Black Seed Oil (one teaspoon a day) *if you can stand the taste
- Explore new meals to cook, eat, pray and love yourself and each other
- Stay safe. Stay positive. Watch. Pray. At the end of the day, God is still and always in control. So be still in your spirit and chill.
Joshua 1:9 NIV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
